There are monsters called Akuma in my world that kill humans, and the only weapon that'll kill them is owned by the Church. They need me more than I need 'em, so they don't what I believe in as long as I keep destroying Akuma.

It does sound pretty wild. [and then he sobers] They also said that your life gets tied to them if you do.

...That's strange as well, but easier to believe. Why would they grant a wish to people they brought here as sacrifices?

Apparently, the wishes can't send us home or stop the ritual itself, so the cultists don't really care what we do with them.

But that's still a huge gift to give for nothing in return.

True. If we're being sacrificed to get something, then it's gotta work like an equivalent exchange.

Maybe the wishes gives them power for their ritual?

I don't know. I'll ask Famine about it, but it's not like we can trust the four of them, either.
