My theory is that they're doing a different ritual on that side — with, yeah, the rocks.

A letter I got from Aerith-chan asked if I'd found anything on that trip through the fog, and then said "we're becoming geologists over here instead." So that it made it sound like... whatever they're doing with rocks is different from what we're doing, but has a similar purpose.
Mmmhmmm. Cloud said that too. Rocks. They've got their own stuff going on. But our body parts from Thursday trips are for a different ritual. So we have to keep them.
It's good to know they've got work on that side too. Nothing worse than having to sit on your hands and wait for rescue.

...Though, about any ressurrections. Essek said that the cult is vast enough that even thwarting this sacrifice wouldn't guarantee we're safe. Bringing anyone back might only put them in danger again, even after we've botched their plans.
It's too soon to say, and they're waiting on more input from Nehan in the, uh. Purgatory or whatever. But it might be that we'd all be safer on that side once push comes to shove.
[She scrubs her face. There's not a lot of privacy in here. She wants desperately to knock back something stiff.]
Again, not sure yet. And we don't know much about the place to begin with, whether it would be a permanent home or somewhere we could escape from, or...just death. And it may not come to pass that way.

Just something to keep in mind.
