[ so if date swore off drinking the other day, he's back on the habit today. the usual cup of questionable alcohol is in front of him and he gives lavi a small, half hearted wave when he sees him. ]

...I broke a chair in the library last night and Zelgadis slashed at the door, but everything's back to normal.

Wherever all that glass is, I'm guessing it's all back in its original spot.

...What do you do when someone tells you a crime was committed, but you don't have any proof besides what they say?

You investigate it and find something.

I have... ways of doing that back home I won't have access to here, but there's normally some way to get an answer if you have the lack of shame to dig wherever you have to.
