[Early on Friday, Zelgadis is still in the library. He's examining the door (which now opens).

Conspicuously, the big slash mark he put in it last night is gone.]

[Lavi glances at the door too, does a double-take, then looks back at it with narrowed eyes.]

Don't tell me --

[heads towards the table where he grabbed the chair from last night. it's still there, unbroken! yay! he kicks it,]

I'm assuming we didn't collectively dream up last night's events.

[He traces a stony finger along the spot that should be damaged.]

You remember falling asleep?

[because the last thing he remembers of zelgadis is him standing watch, did they all just. pass out on the floor]

Not exactly. I think I saw... fire, and the next thing I knew, I woke up on the floor.

[A quick glance around the room. It doesn't look like anything was on fire.]

...Same here. The fire was a little much, if the point was just to put us to sleep.

[Zelgadis pulls out his phone and looks at it. Types something. Waits a few seconds.]

... Can't seem to get a message to them.

...I'd just ignore us, if I were them. It's not like we can force them to write back.

[why are the messages bouncing back!! why!!!]

... Have we been "blocked"?

[This is a concept he only just learned of.]

Heard it from someone else. Apparently, there's a way to prevent a specific person from contacting you.

Well, who knows what their actual terms of employment are. They did say they're our "personal demons."
