Woke up with Cosmos at the theater. We tried to wake you guys up at first, but no dice. Cosmos said he didn't want to kill me, and I felt the same way.
[though of course, that's only his word.]
I wanted to keep an eye on him though, since I didn't trust him. We left the bar and that's where we ran into the octopus in Cosmos's form. It had a drink at the bar, which made us want to follow it the aquarium.
That's where I killed Cosmos by accident while we were fighting. I cut its arm off there, I don't remember seeing where it landed. Then it chased me to the onsen where I finished the job.
...No. It looked like Cosmos from the very start. Cosmos thought it was someone from home -- made him more open to approaching it, at least. We only realized what it was when we followed it back to the aquarium.
I'm guessing that he thought that it was one of his siblings, since it looked like him.
Well, no, I don't think your judgment was much better either.
[ like. honestly. ]
Did it seem like it was deliberately goading you into attacking in hopes of you making the exact mistake you did? Or like it was only taunting him, and your presence was incidental?

At least it's almost over.
[jokes! we've got them!]

Do you have all your memories back now, or are there still holes?
no subject
[he shrugs]
'Course, if there are holes, then I might not remember them.

So, what actually happened, as far as you know?

[ ...sounds stupid for an actual octopus, but if it's a demon, then sure, why not. ]
Was it while you were looking at it that it changed to look like him? And do you know why that was the form it took? Just out of curiosity.

he nods at that explanation. ]
I'd thought it might be something like that.
It seems natural for humans in situations similar to his to seek out bonds with others like them. I could see how that might make for poor judgment.

Wasn't any smarter than him. Felt rattled by where I went on Thursday, I thought for a second that it'd be more of the same.
[another cyoa except on murder night]
Maybe it knew I killed my guy from back home, so that's why it didn't change to look like anyone I knew.

I think it just wanted to eat the both of us.

Probably, yeah. Usually I'm be curious enough to ask, but I'd just smash it to pulp again.
